The Portfolio Strategy Group invites the FBI to discuss Cybersecurity and Identity Theft

November 21, 2017

The Portfolio Strategy Group, an independent investment advisor based in White Plains, New York, hosted a presentation on cybersecurity and identity theft prevention in midtown Manhattan in October. Representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and New York Police Department (NYPD) addressed a room filled with PSG clients and close friends. Topics discussed included common scams (money wiring, IRS imposter, online dating, tech support and “you’ve won”), laptop security, steps you can take to avoid fraud and a recovery plan for victims of identity theft.

There was tremendous interest in the topic, and the presenters fielded numerous questions from the audience, both during the presentation and the cocktail hour which followed. During the event, a guest inquired about companies that offer credit / identity theft monitoring services. MyIDCare was a company mentioned so, as a service to their clients and friends, The Portfolio Strategy Group contacted them and negotiated a 40% discounted rate for anyone who registers for their premium protection plan via this link. PSG does not endorse or receive any benefit whatsoever from MyIDCare.  They made these arrangements solely to provide an option for those interested.
